Everything you see here is created in ballpoint pen. The pens I use are a water-based archival black ink which, in combination with grey Stonehenge drawing paper, gives a lovely antique feel to the work; almost like it’s been aged. They also do not bleed, change colour or burn the paper, ensuring longevity in the pieces.
It was many years ago that I walked away from pencils and other dry media for my drawings. The smudging that happens over time to pencil work became unappealing, especially in sketchbooks. Although ballpoint pen can suffer from slight smudging as well, this can be minimized by starting in the top left-hand corner of a drawing and working towards the bottom right. Enjoy!
